Tax Associate-Senior

Job Brief

Our Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for applying research skills and foundational tax knowledge to understand a client’s tax issues, gathering the necessary client information for timely filing, participating in tax forecasting, recognizing and communicating potential risks, preparing tax accrual calculations and working with tax software to complete returns for review.

Qualifications

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
  • Experience
    • Five (5) or more years of prior relevant tax experience in a public accounting firm preferred
    • Industry expertise in one or more tax specialty preferred
  • License/Certifications
    • CPA certification or IRS Enrolled Agent preferred
  • Software:
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Proficient with Adobe Acrobat Professional
    • Experience with tax research platforms, tax return processing software
  • Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Prepare and review complex corporation, partnership, fiduciary, and individual tax returns
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Takes appropriate actions without being asked
    • Seeks advice of appropriate superiors regarding issues and problems with compliance
    • Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills
    • Able to work well in a team environment
    • Trains other team members

Compensation

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors, including but not limited do the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skills. This is a salaried position requiring overtime during busy season (February-April), and is exempt from overtime. The position is eligible for a Tax Season and Annual performance bonus.

Total Rewards Package

In addition to base salary, TIH provides for fully paid single coverage of candidate’s health insurance (medical, dental, drug, vision), 15 days of paid time off per year, 8-12 paid Holidays; and depending on position level, company-paid required CPE and travel, and participation in profit sharing plan.

Audit-Experienced

Responsibilities

  • Assume in-charge responsibility for audits under supervision of a Manager.

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience at a CPA firm performing audits, reviews and compilations
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Must maintain strict client confidentiality
  • Hold a current CPA license or be working toward obtaining the CPA license.

Audit Senior

Job brief

We are looking for a Senior Auditor to direct our audit engagements.
Our Senior Auditor must be meticulous and analytical, with deep knowledge of auditing practices. We expect you to be reliable, with strong organizational skills, as well as expertise in risk management and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee the auditing process
  • Allocate responsibilities to junior and staff auditors
  • Review team members’ work for accuracy and compliance
  • Perform effective risk and control assessments
  • Complete audits on time and submit reports to audit manager
  • Present audit findings and find ways to increase compliance and efficiency

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as an auditor
  • In-depth understanding of auditing and control practices
  • Updated knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Organizational and leadership abilities
  • Integrity and reliability
  • BSc/BA in Accounting or Finance; master’s degree and professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA) are pluses

We are looking for candidates with experience in QuickBooks, financial statement preparation, and public accounting. Position requirements: Associate’s degree in Accounting or closely related field. Self-starter, organized, able to prioritize work, be responsive to multiple client demands, high attention to detail, very proficient in a fully digital environment especially MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat; able to pick up on new applications quickly.
